Our Judo classes are an excellent choice for self-defense!

Judo is a Japanese martial sport of throwing, mat holds, arm locks and chokes. Movements, mixture throws, counters, and ground grappling teach techniques. Judo's technological skills include applied physics and body leverage mechanics concepts to allow a smaller individual to defeat a bigger, larger opponent. American Judo-Hapkido Institute is affiliated with Shufu Yudansha-kai and U.S. Judo Federation. Students learn a very traditional Judo style, including shiai (contest preparation) and kata (formal skills). The American Judo-Hapkido Institute produced several national and international champions.

My son loves the AJHI. He has learned so much in his 4 months there and is on his way to black belt. He has a bunch of milestones to reach before he gets there and we are excited for each and every one of them. Orange belt is next. It is a great place with great instructors and families.

My son has attended for 9 months and loves Hapkido. It's a family friendly environment. I enjoy not only watching my son's grow and learn, I see each child grow and succeed. This art will change you.

My son started year and a half ago and found it spinning a wheel at a carnival. It was the best spin of his life! He has grown in so much confidence in last year. He works hard and works with the best group of instructors and classmates. It's really a family atmosphere and everyone enjoys each other's success!!!

was an "original" student of Grandmaster Beluschak 40 years ago. As a teenager I stopped attending to do other sports. Well 35 years later I returned to the school as a 47 year old man. I three main goals: Finish what I started back then, regain the confidence that i could handle myself in a self defense situation, and get back into shape. Going on 2 years now I can say that all of my goals are being accomplished. You're never too old (there are many students my age) and you're never too far out of shape (i've lost 30 pounds since starting not only through the activity but through the self discipline skills that I am acquiring). The atmosphere in the school is welcoming and positive. We have students of all ages and back rounds The tone set by Grandmaster John is carried through by senior instructors Master Bud Newman and Master Dane Jenkins who make classes fun and challenging.I highly recommend becoming a Blak Belt Leadership member to take advantage of the extra seminars and classes. Through a leadership class taught by Master Laura Beluschak I have learned not only the methods that the school employees to teach but I have also used it in my career to help me develop professionally. The American Judo Hapkido Institute has my Highest possible recommendation!

I can't say enough good things about this place. The entire staff is so friendly and eager to help my daughter grow both in Hapkido and as a person. Absolutely fantastic learning center.
